# Configure a cash register

## Create one or more cash registers to use when processing orders and payments.

**Add a cash register**

1. From the **Configuration** menu, click **Settings**.
2. Select the **Payment** tab.
3. In the **Cash registers** section, click **+ Add a cash register**.
4. Enter the name of the cash register.
5. Click **Submit**.
6. Repeat these steps to create as many cash registers as needed.

**Use a cash register during a payment**

1. Create a new order by clicking **Create an order**.
2. During the payment process, select the cash register you want to use in the **Cash register** field (e.g., **Cash register 1** or **Cash register 2**).
3. Continue with the payment process.

The selected cash register is associated with the transaction and allows you to identify which cash register was used to process the payment.
